IVF (in vitro fertilization) is a type of fertility treatment where egg is fertilized with a healthy sperm outside of body in a lab. But sometimes the sperm cannot penetrate the outer layer of egg, for a variety of reasons. During ICSI, a single healthy sperm is injected directly into the cytoplasm of the egg.
